The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) continues emergency response operations across Mississippi following the winter storm, with crews working overnight in Yalobusha County to install a generator at the Tri-Lake Rural Water Association.

The generator installation will restore power to the water well, ensuring access to clean and reliable water for nearly 250 households affected by storm-related power outages. USACE is supporting the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) by assessing critical infrastructure needs and placing and installing emergency generators where required. These efforts are part of USACE’s ongoing mission to help communities recover quickly and safely from severe weather impacts.

To accelerate response efforts, USACE has established two Generator Staging Bases in Mississippi, enabling rapid deployment of equipment and personnel to communities affected by the winter storm. USACE remains committed to working alongside federal, state, and local partners to protect public health and restore essential services during emergency situations.
