Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that Sikh pilgrims from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom will now receive free online visas within 30 minutes of arrival in Pakistan. This statement was made during a meeting with a delegation of Sikh pilgrims from America in Lahore, where Naqvi warmly welcomed them to Pakistan.
Naqvi explained that the visa process requires applicants to complete a simple form, allowing them to secure a visa within just 30 minutes.
He also expressed plans to expand access to more Sikh religious sites in Pakistan, beyond existing sites like Hasan Abdal, Kartarpur, Nankana Sahib, and Lahore. The minister emphasized that permits will no longer be necessary to visit these locations, opening the door for a broader exploration of Pakistan’s Sikh heritage.

To further encourage international tourism, especially for events like the Champions Trophy, cricket matches, and special Pak-India matches, Pakistan has removed visa requirements for citizens of 124 countries and introduced specific quotas for these occasions.
The Sikh delegation praised the streamlined visa process, noting it has significantly simplified their travel to Pakistan. They also expressed interest in exploring potential investment opportunities in the country.
The delegation included Dr. Dilveer Singh Pannu, Surjit Singh Hothi, Ranjit Singh Kahlon, and Lakhman Singh.
