Following the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, the country’s flight operations are showing signs of recovery. The air travel situation, which had been severely affected by repeated suspensions and backlogs, is now steadily improving.

In the last few days, several flights were either canceled or delayed due to technical challenges and operational constraints. However, the situation is stabilizing. The number of canceled flights nationwide has dropped to 50—down significantly from 150 reported just a day earlier. Furthermore, 12 international airlines have resumed their operations, marking a strong step toward restoring normalcy.

Officials from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to streamline Hajj flights as well, ensuring that pilgrims face minimal disruptions.

As of today, only 23 flights from Islamabad, 14 from Lahore, and 15 from Karachi were canceled. Peshawar recorded 4 cancellations, while Sialkot and Faisalabad reported 2 and 1 respectively. Additionally, due to operational reasons, three international flights from Sharjah, Dammam, and Kuwait, originally scheduled for Sialkot, have been redirected to Lahore.

Over the past week, ongoing tensions between the two countries led to multiple disruptions, with frequent suspensions of air operations. The Civil Aviation Authority issued several NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen), causing some airlines to temporarily suspend their services.

Now, with Pakistan having fully reopened its airspace for all commercial flights, delays and cancellations are gradually decreasing. Authorities anticipate that full normalcy will return within the next couple of days, offering much-needed relief to travelers and the aviation industry alike.
