The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York and the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations observed a one-minute silence today to mark Youm-e-Istehsal in solemn solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. He strongly condemned India’s illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, which aimed to alter the demographic and political status of the disputed territory in violation of UN Security Council resolutions and international law.
The observance served as a reminder of Pakistan’s continued commitment to standing with the people of Jammu and Kashmir until the dispute is resolved in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
