The United States has once again put India under global scrutiny by imposing visa restrictions on owners, executives, and senior officials of Indian travel agencies involved in sending people illegally to the US.
According to the US State Department, these measures are part of a strict crackdown on illegal immigration, human smuggling, and trafficking networks. The Indian Mission’s Consular Affairs and Diplomatic Security teams actively collaborate with US authorities to identify offenders.

The restrictions, applied under section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, are aimed at disrupting these illegal networks and hold violators accountable. The policy applies worldwide, including to those otherwise eligible for the Visa Waiver Program.
The US emphasized that enforcing immigration laws is essential to protect American citizens and maintain the rule of law, sending a clear warning to those promoting illegal immigration.
