The Consulate General of Pakistan, New York, has received reports that members of the Pakistani community are being targeted with fraudulent phone and WhatsApp calls. The callers, using unknown or spoofed numbers, are impersonating officials of the Consulate, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and other Pakistani law enforcement agencies. In some cases, fake documents and uniforms have been used to appear legitimate.

The Consulate clarifies that it does not make unsolicited calls and never requests personal information, documents, or payments via phone or WhatsApp. Such communications are fraudulent and must be ignored.
Community members are strongly advised not to share any personal details with these callers. Any such incidents should be reported immediately, along with supporting evidence or call details, to:

The Consulate urges the community to remain vigilant and safeguard their personal information against these malicious attempts.
