Earlier this week, Texas State Representative Salman Bhojani had the distinct honor of meeting Faizan Zaki, the 13-year-old champion of the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Faizan, a resident of Allen, Texas, secured the national title by correctly spelling the French word “éclaircissement” in the 21st round of the competition.

Reflecting on the meeting, Representative Bhojani praised Faizan’s dedication, resilience, and academic brilliance. “It was truly inspiring to witness the determination and discipline shown by Faizan and his family,” he said. “Their journey is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through hard work and unwavering commitment.”

Having competed in the Bee four times and finishing as the runner-up in 2024, Faizan’s perseverance has earned him widespread admiration across North Texas. Representative Bhojani commended him not just as a spelling champion but as a role model for youth in the region.
“Faizan has made our community incredibly proud,” Bhojani added. “He is a shining example of North Texan excellence and a beacon of hope for future generations.”
