Riyadh will host its first fashion exhibition dedicated to Pakistani designers on Saturday, aiming to strengthen cultural and creative ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The event, titled Riyadh Fashion Couture 2024, is set for November 16 and is organized by co-founders Sharmeen Ehsan, Ayesha Mohsin, and Adnan Bashir Khan, who bring extensive experience in event management.

Diverse Designer Lineup
The exhibition will feature both emerging and established designers, with 80 percent of participants hailing from Pakistan and the remainder from India, the United States, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia. Organizers hope this initiative will enhance collaboration between the Pakistani and Saudi fashion industries.

Cultural Exchange Goals
Ehsan stated, “The purpose of hosting a Pakistani designers’ exhibition in Riyadh is to foster cultural exchange, promote Pakistan’s rich heritage, and create a platform for collaboration between the fashion industries of both nations.” She emphasized that this curated exhibition will provide a fresh perspective on fashion from a region that has been largely underrepresented in Saudi Arabia.

Featured Designers
Prominent Pakistani designers such as Deepak Perwani, HSY, Agha Noor, Sadaf Amir, Maliha Studio, Anam Akhlaq, and Komal Lakhani will showcase their work. Indian designers like Pam Mehta, Asma Gulzar, and Vibha Jewel will also participate, specializing in bridal couture and semi-formal attire.

Local Opportunities
Ehsan highlighted that the exhibition will create job opportunities for local models, makeup artists, and designers. “This groundbreaking event will mark the first time contemporary Pakistani design talent is showcased in Riyadh,” she noted, setting the stage for future collaborations in the growing Middle Eastern fashion scene.

Deepak Perwani’s Participation
Deepak Perwani, one of Pakistan’s leading designers, expressed excitement about showcasing his collection in Riyadh for the first time. Previously, he has showcased in Dubai, Doha, and Bahrain. “I’m sure there will be a market,” he said, noting the significant Pakistani and Indian population in the city.
