In a touching tribute, the late Queen Elizabeth II will have a brief appearance in the upcoming film Paddington in Peru. This follows her charming skit with the beloved bear during her 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebrations, just months before her passing at the age of 96.
A photo of the Queen alongside Paddington will be featured in the third installment of the franchise, with the royal household’s approval. Ron Halpern, head of global productions at Studiocanal, confirmed that the royal family was pleased with the inclusion.
Rosie Alison, a producer for the film, emphasized the modesty of Paddington, stating, “We don’t like to make a big deal of it.”

In her original Jubilee video, the Queen shared afternoon tea with Paddington at Buckingham Palace, humorously revealing a marmalade sandwich she had tucked away for later. Known for her love of film and television, she also famously appeared with Daniel Craig in a James Bond sketch for the London Olympics in 2012.
The new Paddington film takes the titular bear on an adventure to Peru to visit his Aunt Lucy, featuring a stellar cast that includes Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas.
Paddington in Peru will hit theaters on November 8, 2024.
