The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York recently hosted a trade delegation organized by the Global Trade and Expo Centre, Islamabad, aimed at enhancing export opportunities for Pakistan’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the United States.
The delegation included entrepreneurs and representatives from diverse sectors such as food products, footwear, IT services, surgical instruments, and beauty and personal care items.
Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai, along with Trade & Investment Counsellor Adnan Mahmood Awan, welcomed the delegates at the Consulate. In his address, Atozai reaffirmed the Consulate’s full support for Pakistani businesses exploring international markets. He emphasized that the United States continues to be a key trade partner for Pakistan, and that SMEs have tremendous potential to thrive through innovation, strategic partnerships, and market diversification.

Trade Counsellor Adnan Mahmood Awan provided the delegation with an overview of the U.S. economic and trade landscape, focusing on opportunities for Pakistani products in specialized and high-demand sectors. He noted that there is significant room for Pakistani brands to establish themselves in the American market.
The Consulate assured ongoing assistance to trade delegations, including support in navigating regulatory frameworks, identifying business leads, and building connections with relevant industry players in the U.S.
This engagement is part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to promote its export capabilities and integrate SMEs into global trade networks. The Consulate encouraged delegates to take full advantage of their visit by forming partnerships, attending trade exhibitions, and gaining insights from the U.S. business environment.
