In a powerful display of unity and patriotism, members of the Pakistani-American community in Houston gathered for a special corner meeting on Thursday evening at Jinnah Hall, located within the Pakistan Center. The event was convened in response to the recent unprovoked missile attacks by India on Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad—regions within Pakistan that have come under international scrutiny following escalating regional tensions.

Organized under the leadership of Mr. Siraj Narsi, President of the Pakistan Association of Greater Houston (PAGH), the gathering brought together community leaders, professionals, youth, and members of the ethnic media. Together, they expressed their deep concern over the attacks and pledged unwavering support to the people and armed forces of Pakistan during this critical period.

The meeting served not only as a platform for voicing condemnation of India’s aggression but also as a reaffirmation of Pakistani expatriates’ commitment to peace, sovereignty, and justice. Participants reiterated that while they are miles away from their homeland, their hearts remain deeply connected.
Dr. Asaf Riaz Qadeer, a respected community advocate, passionately addressed the audience, saying, “We are not just gathered in concern—we are gathered in commitment. Our voice in Houston is part of a broader chorus of unity with our fellow Pakistanis.” Dr. Qadeer also shared a letter he had written to the Pakistani Caucus in the United States Congress, urging them to recognize Pakistan’s perspective and advocate for a just resolution that prioritizes peace without compromising sovereignty.

Pakistan’s Consul General in Houston, Mr. Aftab Chaudhry, addressed the gathering with a call for strength and collective resolve. “At a time when our homeland faces unwarranted aggression, the unity and vigilance of overseas Pakistanis are vital. We must stand shoulder to shoulder with our nation and let the world see that our resolve cannot be shaken.”
Joining the event virtually from Washington, D.C., Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, echoed similar sentiments. “Peace must be the ultimate destination, but not through surrender or the erosion of national dignity. When those on the side of truth remain silent, they enable injustice. Our role, whether in Pakistan or abroad, is to resist aggression with firmness and purpose.”

A special dua (prayer) was offered for the safety, security, and strength of Pakistan and its people. Emotions ran high as attendees prayed for peace while pledging to counter misinformation and actively promote Pakistan’s narrative in the global media space.
The event concluded with a collective call to action urging Pakistani-Americans to remain informed, engaged, and vocal advocates for Pakistan’s sovereignty, integrity, and peaceful aspirations.
