Pakistan’s star pacer Haris Rauf has been honored as the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November 2024, celebrating his instrumental role in Pakistan’s historic series win against Australia.
Dominance in Australia
Rauf delivered a standout performance during Pakistan’s tour of Australia, claiming 10 wickets in three ODIs. His fiery spells led Pakistan to their first ODI series victory on Australian soil in 22 years. With an impressive tally of 18 wickets across formats in November, Rauf edged out India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Marco Jansen for the coveted award.

Rauf’s brilliance was most evident in the second ODI in Adelaide. With Pakistan trailing 1-0 in the three-match series, Rauf turned the tide with a stunning spell of 5/29, his second five-wicket haul in ODIs. His effort restricted the hosts to just 163 runs, setting up a commanding nine-wicket victory for Pakistan.
In the series decider, Rauf contributed two crucial wickets, earning the Player of the Series award as Pakistan clinched the series 2-1.
Consistency Across Formats
Rauf’s exceptional form extended to the T20I series in Australia, where he bagged five wickets, including a four-wicket haul in Sydney, marking his fourth in T20Is.
Finishing Strong in Zimbabwe
Later in the month, Rauf continued to shine during Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe. He added three more wickets in the ODI series, helping Pakistan overturn a 1-0 deficit to secure a 2-1 series victory.
A Month to Remember
Haris Rauf’s remarkable consistency and match-winning contributions across formats have solidified his status as one of Pakistan’s premier fast bowlers. His recognition as ICC Player of the Month is a testament to his impact and excellence on the international stage.
