The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York hosted a vibrant and interactive session between a visiting high-level parliamentary delegation from Pakistan and the Pakistani-American community. The delegation, led by Pakistan People’s Party Chairman and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, included senior parliamentarians, former ministers, ambassadors, and key government officials.
The event drew active participation from prominent Pakistani-American leaders, heads of diaspora organizations, representatives from U.S. chapters of Pakistani political parties, entrepreneurs, professionals, and youth advocates.

In his remarks, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari underscored the vital contributions of the Pakistani-American community to Pakistan’s progress and its positive image abroad. He shared a comprehensive overview of South Asia’s evolving geopolitical environment, focusing on Pakistan’s principled diplomatic approach amidst growing regional tensions.
He categorically rejected India’s recent allegations following the Pahalgam incident, calling them baseless and lacking credible investigation or evidence. He strongly condemned India’s unilateral military actions targeting civilians and infrastructure, terming them grave violations of international humanitarian law and a threat to regional peace.
The delegation also voiced serious concern over India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, warning of its humanitarian and environmental consequences. Labeling it a dangerous weaponization of natural resources, they called for immediate restoration of the treaty and emphasized the need for diplomacy, dialogue, and adherence to international agreements.

The group encouraged the Pakistani-American diaspora to remain actively engaged in advocating Pakistan’s narrative on global platforms, highlighting their unique position as cultural and diplomatic ambassadors.
Later, at an exclusive session organized by the Overseas Pakistanis Society at the Cornell Club in New York, the delegation engaged with academics, analysts, business leaders, journalists, and students. The discussion centered on regional security, foreign policy priorities, and the diaspora’s role in strengthening Pakistan’s global outreach.

Participants welcomed Pakistan’s balanced and measured diplomatic stance, lauding the delegation’s outreach efforts. The event concluded with a call for unity, proactive engagement, and continued collaboration between Pakistan and its overseas communities to promote peace, regional stability, and constructive international relations.
