Telangana police have arrested Allu Arjun in connection with the tragic death of a woman during the premiere of his latest film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The actor was taken into custody by officials from the Chikkadpally police station in Hyderabad on Friday. His arrest followed the unfortunate incident during the film’s premiere, which saw a stampede after Arjun’s arrival at the Sandhya Theatre in RTC X Roads.
Fan Reaction and Public Support
Upon the news of Allu Arjun’s arrest, numerous fans gathered outside the Chikkadpally police station to show their support. Videos and photos shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed the large crowds. The police increased security to maintain order amidst the public’s divided opinions, with some questioning the arrest and others supporting it. Many fans took to social media, wondering if Arjun was being unfairly blamed for a situation that was beyond his control, particularly questioning whether crowd management was the police’s responsibility.
Public Debates on Accountability
There was significant debate online about the extent of Allu Arjun’s responsibility. Some fans argued that the responsibility of crowd control lies with the police and event organizers, not with the actor himself. One fan commented, “Isn’t crowd control the police’s responsibility?” while others pointed out that if Arjun could be held accountable, then the rest of the Pushpa 2 team, including the director and producers, should also be blamed.

However, some people agreed with the police’s actions, supporting the notion that no one, including celebrities, should be above the law. On the other hand, a section of fans speculated that the arrest was part of a publicity stunt to promote Pushpa 2, with some suggesting that the entire situation was staged for media attention.
Details of the Incident
The tragic event unfolded on December 4, when Allu Arjun, along with his co-star Rashmika Mandanna and his wife Sneha Reddy, visited the Sandhya Theatre to watch Pushpa 2: The Rule with fans. According to Arjun, he left the theatre midway after being informed that the crowd was becoming unmanageable. The situation escalated into a stampede, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Revathi and leaving her son critically injured. Following the incident, the police arrested the owner and management of the theatre, making Allu Arjun the fourth person arrested in connection with the case.
Actor’s Apology and Support for Victim’s Family
After the news of the tragic death broke, Allu Arjun issued an apology for the incident and expressed his sorrow over the loss. The actor promised to financially assist the victim’s family in any way he could.
