Srishti Tuli, a 25-year-old Air India pilot from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, was found dead in her Mumbai apartment. She reportedly hanged herself with a data cable, and her 27-year-old boyfriend, Aditya Pandit, has been arrested for allegedly abetting her suicide.
Allegations of Harassment and Public Humiliation
Tuli’s family accused Pandit of harassment and controlling behavior. They allege he taunted her, manipulated her finances, and pressured her to change her lifestyle, including stopping her from eating non-vegetarian food.
Relationship and Financial Disputes
The couple met during pilot training in Delhi and later moved in together in Mumbai. Tuli’s uncle claimed Pandit borrowed $700 from her and transferred the amount to his family, further straining their relationship.
Final Moments and Suspicious Circumstances
On the night of her death, Tuli reportedly called Pandit, expressing her intent to end her life. Pandit returned to Mumbai and, with a friend, discovered her hanging. Despite efforts to save her, she was declared dead at Seven Hills Hospital.

Family Demands Investigation
Tuli’s family believes she was driven to suicide by continuous harassment and alleges evidence tampering at the crime scene. They have called for a thorough police investigation into her death.
Trailblazing Career Cut Short
Tuli, the first female pilot from Gorakhpur, was recognized by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for her achievements. She had been living in Mumbai since June 2023 for her Air India job.
Legal Action Taken
Aditya Pandit has been charged under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and is in police custody. Investigations are ongoing.
