A civil lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs has been amended to include Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) as a defendant. The allegations date back to a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
Accuser Claims Assault at Age 13
The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, alleges she was 13 years old when the incident occurred. She claims she felt unwell after consuming a drink at the party, wandered into a bedroom, and was assaulted by Carter and then by Combs before escaping.
Initially referred to as “Celebrity A” in the original filing, Carter has denied the allegations, calling them “heinous.” In a statement to CNN, he urged the matter be addressed through criminal proceedings instead of civil litigation.
“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one. Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away,” Carter stated.

Mediation and Alleged Harassment
The lawsuit claims Doe’s legal team approached Carter for mediation before amending the complaint. Carter rejected the mediation attempt, labeling it a “blackmail attempt.” He further accused Doe’s legal team of orchestrating “a conspiracy of harassment, bullying, and intimidation.”
“This lawyer, based on my research, has a pattern of these theatrics,” Carter added.
Diddy Faces Additional Allegations
Combs, who is already entangled in multiple civil lawsuits, has pleaded not guilty to separate criminal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. His legal team has strongly denied all allegations.
The case continues to unfold, with both Carter and Combs facing heightened scrutiny amid these serious accusations.
