Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Mir Hamza has been officially released from the national Test squad after experiencing discomfort in his right leg ahead of the third and final Test against England in Rawalpindi. Hamza, who reported slight discomfort before the match, was unable to join the team for training sessions.
Rehabilitation Underway in Karachi
Hamza will now undergo rehabilitation in Karachi under the supervision of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) medical team. During a practice session on Tuesday, Hamza was seen performing rehabilitation exercises rather than bowling, focusing on strengthening his glutes under the guidance of team physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon. Using resistance bands, Hamza worked on exercises like glute bridges and clam shells to aid his recovery.
Three-Week Recovery Period Expected
According to PCB sources, Hamza’s full recovery is expected to take around three weeks, which raises doubts about his availability for Pakistan’s upcoming white-ball tour of Australia in November.
