The Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) has kicked off its annual summer convention in Dallas from July 9, which will continue till Sunday, July 13.One of the highlights of the event is the gala dinner, where Pakistan’s leading music sensation Atif Aslam will perform live. According to sources, his visa was issued by the U.S. Embassy just last night, ensuring his participation. Initially, a Brazilian singer was scheduled to perform, but due to visa issues, she could not attend. In her place, Sanam Marvi, a celebrated Pakistani vocalist known for her soulful Sufi performances, has joined the musical lineup. For the first time in APPNA’s history, dance groups from Europe are also taking part in the convention, adding a unique multicultural flair to the event. A series of musical performances are lined up from Thursday to Saturday night, featuring some of the most well-known Pakistani artists, including Arif Lohar, Meesha Shafi, and Atif Aslam.

To connect with his fans and the Pakistani-American community, Atif Aslam has also recorded a special video message expressing his excitement about performing at the gala.A total of 2,700 guests have been invited to the gala dinner, and organizers have confirmed that all tickets were sold out well in advance. However, internal discussions among APPNA members suggest concerns about favoritism in the ticket distribution process.
