In a major step toward fostering professional collaboration, the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) is set to join the American Medical Association (AMA) as an affiliate organization. A virtual partnership meeting, hosted by APPNA Liaison Committee Chair Dr. Raffia Qutab, will convene key leaders from both organizations to discuss future collaborations.

High-Level Talks to Shape the Future of Healthcare Advocacy

Scheduled for February 20, 2025, the meeting will be led by APPNA President Dr. Humeraa Qamar and Special Advisor Dr. Omar Atiq. The discussions will focus on strengthening APPNA’s ties with professional organizations, shaping policies that benefit physicians and patients, and broadening advocacy initiatives.

Enhancing APPNA’s Role in the Healthcare System

Under Dr. Qamar’s leadership, APPNA’s Liaison Committee will engage with AMA’s Directors of Marketing and Federation Relations to establish long-term collaborations. This initiative seeks to enhance APPNA’s presence within the healthcare sector while fostering key relationships that promote professional growth and policy development.

Key Representatives Set to Join the Discussion

The meeting will feature AMA representatives Joaquin Falcon, Director of Federation Relations, and Joyce Wilson, Director of Marketing Operations, alongside members of APPNA’s Liaison Committee.

A Milestone for APPNA 2025

This partnership marks a significant milestone for APPNA, reinforcing its dedication to professional advocacy, healthcare policy improvements, and the empowerment of Pakistani-American physicians. The collaboration is expected to play a crucial role in expanding APPNA’s influence and outreach in the medical community.
