aylor Swift has solidified her status as a music legend by becoming the most-decorated artist in Billboard Music Awards (BBMA) history, amassing a staggering 49 career wins. At Thursday night’s event, Swift took home 10 awards, surpassing Drake’s record of 42 wins.
A Night of Triumph
Swift’s accolades included Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Streaming Songs Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Album. Drake, who entered the event tied with Swift at 39 wins, added three more trophies to his collection.
Heartfelt Gratitude
In a pre-recorded speech, Swift expressed deep appreciation to Billboard and her fans for their unwavering support. “Everything that’s happened with the Eras Tour and The Tortured Poets Department means the world to me. Thank you for embracing my music and caring so much about what I create,” she shared.

As Swift’s 35th birthday approaches, she called her record-breaking achievement “the nicest early birthday present” she could have received, adding, “It’s exactly what I wanted.”
Chart Domination
Swift’s dominance of Billboard’s charts has been unmatched, particularly in recent years. In 2022, she made history as the first artist to occupy the entire Billboard Hot 100 top 10 with songs from her album Midnights. Earlier this year, she broke her own record by claiming the top 14 spots on the Hot 100 following the release of The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD).
TTPD held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for 16 weeks, the longest run of any of Swift’s albums. In 2023, she became the only living artist to have five albums simultaneously appear in the top 10.
A Star-Studded Event
The 2024 Billboard Music Awards, hosted by comedian and actor Michelle Buteau, aired on FOX. The night featured electrifying performances from Coldplay, Linkin Park, Shaboozey, and more.
With her latest achievements, Taylor Swift continues to redefine success in the music industry, proving once again why she is a force to be reckoned with.
