Matiullah Jan, a presenter for Neo News and a popular YouTube commentator, was arrested outside a hospital in Islamabad on Wednesday while investigating fatalities during protests supporting jailed ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The First Information Report (FIR) against Jan included charges under several criminal sections, including rash driving, theft with intent to harm, assaulting public servants, and terrorism (Section 7ATA). A narcotics-related charge was also included.

ATC Hearing and Bail Decision
During the hearing, ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra granted bail after hearing arguments from both sides. Speaking to reporters, Jan’s lawyer said the judge ordered the submission of surety bonds for the journalist’s release.
