Rachel Gupta, a 20-year-old from Jalandhar, has made history as the first Indian to win the title of Miss Grand International (MGI) 2024. The crowning event took place on October 25 at the MGI Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. Miss Grand International, a prestigious global beauty pageant with over five million followers, is recognized as one of the top pageants worldwide. Rachel earned her spot on the international stage after being crowned Miss Grand India at a national event in Jaipur in August.

Competing Among the World’s Best
Facing contestants from over 70 countries, Rachel demonstrated exceptional poise and talent, consistently placing among the top contenders. Her remarkable performance also won her the Grand Pageants Choice Award for 2024. With a strong Instagram following of over a million, Rachel’s influence and popularity continue to expand. As the new global ambassador for MGI, she will promote peace and stability across the world.

A Proud Moment for India
Tejasvi Minhas, a family member, shared the family’s excitement, noting that Rachel’s win ties her with Lara Dutta for the highest number of global pageant crowns won by an Indian. “This achievement has brought pride to both Jalandhar and the entire country,” Tejasvi remarked. Rachel’s celebratory homecoming is planned for later this year.
