The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C. organized a webinar titled “Politico-Demographic Engineering: A Threat to Kashmiri Identity” to mark #YoumEIstehsal.
Panel Highlights Indian Violations of International Law
Prominent speakers, including Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Victoria Schofield, former Senator Mushahid Hussain, Ambassador Munir Akram, and Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, condemned India’s illegal and unilateral revocation of Articles 370 and 35A, which stripped Jammu & Kashmir of its special status despite pending final settlement under UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
The panel described Indian actions—such as granting illegal domiciles, gerrymandering constituencies, and altering property laws—as deliberate measures to negate and dilute Kashmiri identity.

Urgent Call for International Facilitation
Speakers urged:
- Global facilitation for the peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute
- Digital documentation of Indian human rights violations
- Coordinated international advocacy for implementation of UNSC resolutions
Referring to UNSC resolutions and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) advisory opinion on Palestine, panelists emphasized that sustainable peace in South Asia depends on resolving the Kashmir dispute through a UN-supervised plebiscite reflecting the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Acknowledgment of U.S. Leadership
The panel appreciated the leadership of the United States, particularly President Donald Trump and Secretary Marco Rubio, for their efforts to de-escalate India-Pakistan tensions and their expressed readiness to facilitate dialogue aimed at addressing all outstanding issues, including the core dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.
