In response to the ongoing flood crisis in Pakistan, three leading humanitarian organizations — the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA), the Alliance for Disaster Relief (AFDR), and Helping Hands for Relief & Development (HHRD) — have come together to launch a comprehensive Pakistan Flood Relief Initiative.

The joint initiative begins with an initial allocation of PKR 30 million (approximately USD 100,000) and is structured to scale up through additional short-term and long-term humanitarian projects.

As part of the Emergency Relief & Disaster Management (ERDM) program, the team has already conducted healthcare and nutrition activities in the most severely affected areas, including:
- Free Health Clinic in Chakwal
- Medical Camp at Shahpur Syedan and Taqia Shah Murad
- Distribution of hot meals, flavored milk, and biscuits to hundreds of families
Affected Area Details:
- Villages: Shahpur Syedan & Taqia Shah Murad
- Union Council: Choa Ganj Ali Shah (the hardest-hit area due to cloudburst)
- District: Chakwal
- Region: North Punjab
This collaborative effort builds on the highly successful 2022 flood response, during which over USD 2 million was raised and distributed in aid. These efforts are also generously supported by Syed Javaid Anwar, Chief Patron HKSCA.

“We are committed to supporting our brothers and sisters in Pakistan through sustainable, impactful aid,” said Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, President of the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association.
