Raja Hasan Ahmed, a well-known and respected figure in the Pakistani American community of Long Island, New York, has been re-elected as a Board of Education member for the Brentwood Union Free School District in Suffolk County. This marks his second consecutive term, further solidifying his role as a trailblazer in local educational leadership.

Hasan Ahmed first made history three years ago when he became the first Pakistani and Muslim American to be elected to the Brentwood School District Board. The Brentwood School District serves more than 16,000 students, making it one of the largest school districts in Suffolk County and the largest in New York State’s “suburban” regions. Its diverse student body and wide-ranging educational programs make the role of a board member both influential and deeply impactful. In his statement following the re-election, Hasan Ahmed said:

“It is a great honor to be re-elected. I am grateful for the trust the community has placed in me once again. I am committed to serving with dedication and integrity, and I will continue working to ensure quality education, equity, and support for all students.”

Community members, especially from the Pakistani American diaspora, have celebrated his victory with enthusiasm, seeing it as a positive step forward for greater representation in mainstream American institutions. Social media platforms and local gatherings have been filled with congratulatory messages and heartfelt wishes for his continued success.
