In a heartfelt display of patriotism and unity, the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York and the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations jointly hosted a dignified Flag Hoisting Ceremony to observe Youm-e-Tashakkur (Day of Gratitude) — a national day to commemorate Pakistan’s decisive and measured response to recent Indian aggression.
Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsous : A Message of Strength with Responsibility
During the ceremony, Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai addressed attendees and highlighted the exceptional professionalism and restraint displayed by Pakistan’s Armed Forces during Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsous. The operation not only neutralized the threat by downing multiple Indian aircraft, including advanced Rafale jets, but also stood as a global example of responsible military conduct — achieving strategic goals without civilian casualties.
“Our forces responded with precision and purpose,” said the Consul General, “demonstrating that deterrence can be achieved without compromising ethical and humanitarian standards.”
Unyielding in Sovereignty, Committed to Peace
Mr. Atozai reaffirmed Pakistan’s unshakable stance on national sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing that while Pakistan continues to champion peace, it will never tolerate violations of its borders or dignity.
He paid special tribute to the resilience of the Pakistani people and the unwavering resolve of Pakistan’s military and leadership, whose vigilance continues to safeguard national interests in the face of external threats.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, also addressed the gathering. Echoing the Consul General’s remarks, he commended the discipline and restraint demonstrated by Pakistan’s defense forces.
He emphasized Pakistan’s continued commitment to regional peace and stability, firmly grounded in the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions, especially with regard to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
“Peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without justice and the realization of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination,” the Ambassador stated firmly.

The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer for Pakistan’s continued progress, security, and national unity. Participants reflected on the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes and renewed their commitment to uphold the dignity, freedom, and sovereignty of Pakistan.
