Muhammad Saeed Shaikh, President of the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA) and Alliance for Disaster Relief (AFDR), recently concluded a significant visit to Pakistan, focusing on supporting grassroots initiatives aimed at youth development and community uplift.

During his visit, Mr. Shaikh, accompanied by Adeel Akram, Regional Manager of Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) Karachi Region, toured the HHRD SDLP Sports Skills Development Project at Jalal ul Din Academy in Karachi. This project is part of Helping Hand USA’s ongoing commitment to empower underprivileged youth through sports and skills training.
Coach Harris Khan briefed the delegation on the progress of the under-15 cricket training program, emphasizing its impact over the past three years. “Our young players, selected from various localities across Karachi, benefit from technical skill development, mental strength training, physical fitness routines, and discipline,” Khan explained, highlighting the sustained support from Helping Hand USA.

Saeed Shaikh commended the coaching team and young athletes, recognizing the role of community partnerships in driving lasting change. “Witnessing the dedication of these young players and the positive outcomes of programs like this is truly inspiring,” he remarked. “Our organizations in Houston remain steadfast in fostering meaningful collaborations and supporting impactful initiatives in Pakistan.”
The visit underscores the broader mission of the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association and AFDR to enhance bilateral ties through humanitarian aid, cultural exchange, and youth empowerment initiatives.
